Is Undavalli Arun Kumar going to join YSRCP?
"Undavalli Arun Kumar, a senior political leader, is reportedly set to join the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), marking a key development in Andhra Pradesh politics. This move is seen as a significant step to strengthen the party, as Jagan Mohan Reddy focuses on rebuilding YSRCP after recent resignations and electoral defeats. Undavalli’s entry into the party is expected to add moral strength, with speculations about other senior Congress leaders following suit."

Senior political leader Undavalli Arun Kumar is reportedly going to join the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) soon. This is considered a significant development in Andhra Pradesh politics. Recently, YSRCP Rajya Sabha member V. Vijay Sai Reddy resigned from his position. In this context, party leader Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has focused on strengthening the party.
To further strengthen the party, Jagan has been reaching out to senior leaders who were close to the late Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. Recently, former Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Sake Sailajanath joined YSRCP. Similarly, reports suggest that Undavalli Arun Kumar is also set to join the party.
According to sources, Undavalli Arun Kumar is expected to officially join YSRCP on February 26, at the invitation of Jagan Mohan Reddy. However, there has been no official statement from him yet, though he has not denied these speculations. After the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, Undavalli Arun Kumar had distanced himself from electoral politics but has been voicing his opinions on state issues like the Polavaram project. Currently, he has a mixed response to the decisions of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
According to party sources, Undavalli Arun Kumar’s joining will morally strengthen YSRCP. Additionally, there are speculations that other senior Congress leaders may follow this path. After the defeat in the last assembly elections, Jagan Mohan Reddy is implementing new strategies for party reconstruction. He is holding meetings with party workers on a district level, criticizing the failures of the coalition government, and conducting extensive tours to regain public support.
