Bullets strike fire truck, two other vehicles in southwest Charlotte

A Charlotte Fire Department fire truck and two other vehicles were struck by bullets. One person was injured.
 
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being hit by a bullet in southwest Charlotte Monday morning. 
 
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said someone opened fire on Clanton Road near Barringer Drive just before 9:30 a.m. The shooting happened near the Exxon gas station.
 

A Charlotte Fire Department fire truck and two other vehicles were struck by bullets during the incident.

 Police said one person in a Jeep Cherokee was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound. That person was taken by Medic to Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center.

No one with Charlotte Fire was injured.

CMPD said they do not believe the shooting was random, but they don't believe the CFD fire truck was an intended target. 

Police have not made any arrests or released any information about a suspect in the case. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 911 or contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
